In Bromley we take a strong partnership approach to tackling domestic abuse, rape, sexual assault, forced marriage, female genital mutilation, so-called ‘honour’-based violence, prostitution and child sexual exploitation – all things which can be considered to be gender-based violence or violence against women and girls. On this site you can find out more information about these issues and where you can get advice and support if you have been affected by them.

Stay safe

Although all the services linked on this page cab offer you help and support in staying safe, if at any time you feel in danger, or it is an emergency, always dial 999 so the Police can assist.

If you feel you may need to feel your home an emergency, it might be worth thinking in advance about a safety plan so you are prepared. Women’s Aid provides a free phone 24h National Domestic Violence helpline - 0808 2000 247 - and has detailed information available. Although this resource is written for women experiencing abuse from their male partner the advice can be applied to many other abusive situations.
