Family Support

We have a team of dedicated family support and parenting practitioners who offer one to one family support.

The main aim of the practitioners is to support parents to protect and develop their children aged under 18 by helping to ensure that every child resides in a safe, supportive and happy family.

What is available?

The Family Support and Parenting Practitioners are based around the borough at the six Children and Family Centres. They offer one to one family support on any issues you might be struggling with including employment, housing, finances, family and friendships and health and wellbeing.

The practitioners will help to support you through the problems you are facing and will assist you for as long as the help is required.

How to apply

You may refer yourself to the service to receive family support using the online referral form [external website] or you can download and complete the referral form and email it to us at bcpadmin@bromley.gov.uk.

Once we receive your referral we will contact you to assess the level of support you require. If we do not feel that our service is right for your needs, we will assist you in contacting other organisations that will be more suitable.

Common Assessment

Whilst working with you, if it becomes apparent that other agencies are required to help support your family, a practitioner will complete a CAF (Common Assessment Framework) with you.

The CAF is a tool to support early intervention, this means when used effectively it ensures families receive the right support at an early stage before a small need grows into a larger one.
