Welcome to Bromley Adoption
What is adoption?
In Bromley we believe that every child needs to experience a safe and happy childhood growing up securely attached to adults that love them.
For most children this will be with their birth parent(s) or within their birth families, but some children will need new parents and this is where you come in!
In the last year, there has been a decrease in the number of younger children needing adoptive families nationally and increase in adopters approved. According to recent statistics, there are about 2,030 children waiting for loving adoptive families across the country.
Who we are looking for
Bromley are looking to recruit adopters for children of various ages and needs and from a range of ethnic backgrounds.
All of our children will have experienced or been at risk of significant harm and we are looking for adopters who are able to take on the responsibility of caring for a child with this background.
We also welcome enquiries from people who may be interested in our Early Permanence/ Foster for Adoption scheme whereby very young children can be placed with potential adopters whilst their future is decided by the Courts.
Prospective adopters have to meet the eligibility list below:
- You must be over the age of 21
- You must have a spare room
- You must not have any serious criminal convictions including sexual offences, violent offences and/or cruelty to either adults or children
